How to read a departure row

Every row below is one weekend: a Friday evening train out, two nights in a named family-run guesthouse, and a Sunday return that lands you back at a mainline station. The row carries the duration as hours and minutes, the guesthouse walking time from the platform, and the train numbers for both legs, so you can check the timetable yourself before you write to us.

Cost is never shown as a single figure. Each row breaks it into three parts: your rail fare, two nights of lodging, and the one included meal. Add them and you have the weekend total. A full breakdown of what the price does and does not cover sits on the cost breakdown section of the home page.

Routes run only where local authorities currently consider travel appropriate. If that changes, you choose a different weekend or take a full refund.
